As part of the development of the upscale Jinja Riverside Apartments, Bwino Engineering was engaged as the primary subcontractor responsible for all excavation and foundation works. The site, located along the banks of the Victoria Nile, presented unique geotechnical challenges due to high water tables and soft alluvial soils. Our engineering team conducted borehole testing and designed a deep foundation system using reinforced strip footings and ground beams to ensure structural stability. Over 2,800 cubic meters of earth were excavated using modern excavators, with precise grading maintained throughout. We installed temporary dewatering pumps to manage seepage and implemented strict safety protocols for trenching operations. The entire phase was completed in 10 weeks, paving the way for superstructure construction. The project has set a benchmark for site preparation in flood-prone areas, demonstrating Bwino’s technical competence and reliability.
